*Program features detailed below
Workshop #1: Curriculum Vitae (CV)/Resume
About the workshop:
Did you know the average person spends less than 10 seconds reviewing a Curriculum Vitae (CV)/Resume before deciding if you’re added to the interview list? In other cases, your CV/Resume is being screened by technology before reaching a human. We will show you how to build a compelling, impressive, and aesthetically fit document that can get your application moved to the favorites bin within 10 seconds. Participants will work on their CV/Resume in real time taking home both an improved CV/Resume and powerful strategies that can be applied to future revisions as their career grows.
Duration: 90 minutes
Participants will:
Learn the appropriate content, grammar, format, and overall aesthetics of a compelling CV/Resume that effectively showcases their unique qualifications and achievements.
Examine and critique a CV in real-time through an engaging revision activity.
Learn strategic techniques for continuous CV/resume enhancement, enabling them to adapt and optimize their resumes as their careers evolve.
Receive personalized feedback on how to polish and improve a resume tailored to their career goals.
Workshop #2: Cover Letter and Letter of Intent
About the workshop:
Writing a compelling cover letter requires a fine balance of tooting your own horn while also showing your knowledge and interest of the company/organization. Too much of one or the other can land your letter in the rejection pile. We have a formula that you can use time and time again that will separate you from the masses.
Duration: 90 minutes
Participants will:
Learn the appropriate content, grammar, format, and overall aesthetics of a letter that is personalized and compelling to the reader.
Understand how to effectively research their opportunities of interest and apply emotional intelligence to the process of letter writing.
Analyze and break down examples of both weak and strong letters to understand why certain techniques work well while others do not.
Practice newly learned concepts through an engaging revision exercise.
Workshop #3: Interview Preparation
About the workshop:
Step 1 is getting the interview. Step 2 is knocking the interview out of the park. Many people look great on paper, but when they show up for the interview they are inadequately prepared…and it shows. While it helps, you don’t need to have the gift of gab or irresistible charisma to have a rockstar interview. What you do need, is a strategic preparation process. This workshop covers strategies to be used before, during, and after the interview! Confidence boost guaranteed.
Duration: 60 minutes
Participants will:
Understand the multifaceted elements that impact performance and influence impressions…before, during, and after the interview.
Gain knowledge on how to research and understand potential employers, enabling them to tailor their responses and demonstrate a strong fit for the role and organizational culture.
Learn effective strategies and techniques to confidently answer common and challenging interview questions.
Gain a powerful checklist that will elevate and streamline their interview process, making them a standout candidate.
Letters of Recommendation Session
About the session:
Who you ask to write or speak on your behalf matters. Although people may mean well, they may not have the skills to represent you in your strongest light. Another thing to consider is that they may not know all the strengths and skill sets you bring to the table. What they have to say about you should be compelling…as well as how they say it. Whomever you approach to write on your behalf should be a strong reference and adequately positioned to give you a raving review. This session teaches participants how to select quality writers and ensure stronger letters.
Duration: 30-45 minutes
Participants will:
Learn how to strategically identify the individuals best suited to write their letters of recommendation.
Understand how to equip reference writers with the information they need to write impactful letters of recommendation that effectively highlight the candidates strengths and achievements.
Receive processes and templates that can be utilized after the session to ensure a seamless reference process every time.
